The school has highly qualified teaching staff, native speakers and mentors, three separate buildings for studying and living, our own gymnasium, open-air swimming pool, and sports grounds on the premises of one of the most renowned in Ukraine five-star recreation center Grand Admiral Resort & Spa.
After Russia had invaded our country, the school stopped operations in Ukraine. The school buildings were partially damaged and destroyed. Even after Irpin’s liberation, the beginning of the academic year 2022, starting from the 1st of September, is impossible
Fortunately, the children and teachers stayed safe and many of them found shelter in Limassol, Cyprus. The majority of families haven’t made up their minds yet regarding how long they are going to stay in Cyprus, and they don’t want to lose connection with Ukrainian culture, language, and school curriculum.
Ukrainian children, who have temporary protection status in Cyprus, are in need of comfortable Ukrainian-speaking surroundings, psychological support, joining the educational process, and learning English to a sufficient level for communication.
Ukrainian and international teachers, together with psychologists, are ready to provide guidance in the educational process and help children gain knowledge through the bilingual teaching system in compliance with the State Standard of Ukraine.
Therefore, the concept of opening a new Ukrainian school in Cyprus appeared. The school got its name - NEO STUDY UKRAINE, and embarked on its way to recognition as a private Cypriot school for 1-6 graders in the category of international schools’ type 3.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine showed tremendous official support in opening the school, highlighted in the letter to The Minister of Education, Sport and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Prodromos Prodromou. School licensing in Cyprus - is a lengthy process lasting from two to five years. Even holding the Ukrainian state school license and the force majeure conditions caused by the war in Ukraine cannot change that. However, a special way is present in the legislation of Cyprus, and it allows the early acquisition of a school’s functioning prior to obtaining a license. This process is called παρεκκλισης (exception).
We also started the process παρεκκλισης and will provide educational services in accordance with the legislation and under The Ministry of Education’s thorough observation. Our school maintains constant contact with The Ministry, coordinates its activity, and approves the study plan.
We cooperate with the leading school in Cyprus – Pascal Education in our way to becoming of a full recognised private school. The students get assistance and constant support from well qualified teachers of Pascal, the Cambridge Checkpoint exams at each grade level are also passed at Pascal schools in Limassol.
